Older American Month Part 2

Older American Month is a time when we pay tribute to older American’s across the country.

Guardian Angels ~ Senior Concierge Services is working hard to ensure that the clients we serve can stay as independent in their home, church and communities for as long as possible.

By 2030 Older Americans will comprise 19% of the population. We are living longer and more active lives well into our 90s. This year’s theme for Older Americans Month is ‘Safe today. Healthy tomorrow.’ The theme focuses on injury prevention and safety to encourage older adults to protect themselves and remain active and independent.

One of the services that Guardian Angels provide is that of a Home Safety Assessment Check. We will walk through your home and assess and evaluate any safety issues, such as electrical cords, throw rugs, your cooking area, walking paths throughout your home and bathroom aids.

The Edmond Senior Center at Mitch Park is a perfect place to learn about proactive ways to stay active and independent with programs like, Early Riser Exercise at 9:15am every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings or Jazzercise Lite at 2:15pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
